Teams 2

On Sunday, September 27, Life Labs held an innovation lab in Austin, Texas during  USBLN’s 18th Annual National Conference & Biz2Biz Expo. Innovation Lab teams consist of participants of the Career Link Mentoring Program. The program is a collaboration of USBLN and Cornell University’s Employment and Disability Institute, which provides a 6-month career mentoring opportunity to college students and recent graduates with disabilities through linkages to business professionals from USBLN member companies. All of them are working on great ideas. Meet some of the teams and see their ideas below:

The Teams

9’s Design: Promoting employee independence, accessibility, and safety via a wearable device.

Abilitas:  Wants to build an app that provides self-empowerment and education with the direct experience of people with disabilities.

Able One: The accessible job marketplace.

Freewheeler: An employee and client feedback model for development of modular diversity and disability training.

My Ears, Inc.: A digital CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) application for smart phones.

Project Chameleon: Training trainers on training people with disabilities.

The teams will continue to work throughout the next two days, with two team finalists announced September 30, and the winning team being crowned October 1.
